Fala Chen excepts first Mainland role in Da Mo Yao

Fala Chen was resting until April before she could return to work so she could immerse herself wholeheartedly into "Triumph of the Skies 2." However, filming for the drama was postponed all the way till September. The script for the drama is still in the midst of being written, and Fala is currently slated to play a character that works the ground crew [at the airport?]. To fill her schedule, she has accepted a role in Mainland acient romance drama, Da Mo Yao (Ballad of the Desert) along with Maggie Cheung and Crystal Tin and played a role name Li Yan. Being the first time that she has acted in a Mainland drama, she has been reduced to a large supporting role.

Thoughts: other casts include Cecilia Liu, Eddie Peng, Hu Ge and Han Dong (as Li Gan) and probably will played Fala's characters brother. I'm excited to see how this drama turns out. The English tittle is Ballad of the Desert. Filming this drama is wrapped for Fala in June.

Fala Chen rather being the little sister in Starshine

Yesterday Fala Chen attended a RTHK event with Elanne Kong. Previously Fala messed up on her live singing performance on JSG, and this time she performs her song live once again, still appearing nervous, but she's still satisfied with the performance. She said: "I can still improve. Also, I have been taking lessons all long, there is no limit to learning." It was reported that Kay Tse signed a HK$2 million contract and joins her company Stars Shine to compete for the Big Sister position with her? Fala Chen might have to kiss a Korean Guy for new MV

Fala Chen’s debut album will be launched in July. Apart from being busy she’s also been promoting her new single. Yesterday she was at Causeway Bay shooting for her new MV at a coffee shop. Fala expressed that earlier she was shooting indoors, and within a day she was already shooting for two MV’s. Therefore the two MV’s can link in together.

She also reveals that apart from herself in the MV, there will be also a handsome guy and a few girls. Asked if she and the leading man will have any intimacy shots, Fala smiles and replied “Don’t know yet. but I don’t think I’ll be able to comunicate with him because he is korean person”. Asked if her boyfriend will mind about the intimacy shots, Fala said her boyfriend doesn’t know that she is shooting for her MV. She doesn’t mind if there’s any intimacy shots. The MV will be shown to Department of TV broadcast before its released, so there should be limit of intimacy.

Fala also expressed that before she started working on her MV she already finished filming. In order to express the elegant effect, she has already been blowing herself in a room for a few hours to get the elegant effect. She said “In the video, I will be wearing an outfit that will show more of my body lines, so its very different. This is a very cool type of style and it will show the saddness of the song”.

Before Fala was recording for her song in “Jade Solid Gold” she was accused of singing out of tone. Fala blieves she did an good job, she said “After re-watching the part of me singing I met a couple of friends and discussed about it, and they believed that the outcome wasn’t that bad. I can accept it and I am also relieve about it”.

To avoid being a fool and singing out of tine , Fala expressed that she will practice more singing and be prepared for next weeks singing.

Fala Chen messes up on Live singing, nervous and tears up

Fala Chen, William Chan and Sherman Chung were recording on JSG last night. Fala appeared in a back-revealing long dress: "Because this is my first time on JSG as a singer, and I have to perform live, so I'm treating this as a grand occasion. (Nervous?) Yes, so I practiced the song several times."




Fala frankly expressed it's quite a challenge for her to perform Cantonese songs and high notes. When she was recording, she got off-key the first two tries and couldn't reach the high notes. Although Fala barely got it on the third try, the executive at her record company wanted perfection, and asked her to record the song another time. Later, Fala explained: "I was a little nervous singing live for the first time. While I was singing, I got too into the song. I thought of the lonely feeling conveyed in the song, and the tears just came out! (Are you satisfied with your performance?) OK la! (How would you score yourself?) I don't know! There aren't any scores on JSG." Did her boyfriend give her any advice? Fala said: "Nobody has heard the new song. It is important that I rely on practicing the song myself and not on getting advice from others. If I wanted to ask, I would ask my teacher, producer or boss for professional advice."



Fala's debut album is scheduled to release in July, when asked if she knows her 'sister-in-law' Marie Zhuge is also releasing an album? She coldly said: "I haven't heard, ok!" When asked again if she's afraid of the competition? She generously responded: "Why would that be? There are so few singers in the HK music industry nowadays, I hope the industry will flourish with healthy competition." Fala Chen promotes for her first song plug "Half"

Fala Chen just completed shooting a series in Mainland and came back to Hong Kong. Yesterday afternoon, she arrived at Metro Radio for an interview and to promote for her first plug Half (一半). Fala is preparing to release her debut album this summer, and to accompany the fast songs in her new album, she'll be turning herself into a 'mo lui' (female dancer). She said: "This week I'm going to shoot the MV and the cover shoot. Most likely I'll have the pretty girl image. In fact, I can go down the Rock and stylish path too. Also, I'm expecting dance arrangements because I have a few fast songs.



As for playing with sex appeal, I don't think so! Because sexy doesn't really fit the feel of my new song. I still don't know who the male lead in my MV will be, but I don't want my boyfriend's help. Just leave it to my company to make the arrangements." Fala reveals her new song Half is about a lonely girl without her other half. In reality Fala, who already has a boyfriend (Sit Sai Hang), was it difficult for her to get into the feeling of the song, she smiled sweetly and said: "I'm an actress!
